Starting In Cape Town at the southern tip of Africa we mount our KTM / Husqvarna rental bikes for the journey of a lifetime to our destination in the north west of Namibia. Over 2800 kilometres of rugged adventure tracks, visiting a vast array of world renowned natural wonders. This tour is more than roads linking a list of highlights. Its equally about a celebration of riding an adventure KTM on some the finest tracks on the planet in this vast remote wilderness.
No 1 Africa motorcycle adventure

This adventure is a combination of the highlights of three of WildWood’s most popular tours. Orange River Wild Ride / Cape To Windhoek / Kaokoland Odyssey. They can all be done as individual tours (see website for details) or combined into this bucket list mega tour.

The opening four days take us from Cape Town Winelands through the Cederberg Conservancy, Tankwa Karoo National Park and Richtersveld Transfrontier National Park to the Orange River border of Namibia. Shortly after crossing the border a visit to the world renowned Fish River Canyon, as magnificent and second in magnitude to only the Grand Canyon. We visit the intriguing Kolmanskop Ghost village at the beautiful German coastal village Lüderitz, the wild horses of Aus and then head north to Sesriem, home of Sesriem Canyon and the worlds most photographed dune ranges, Sossusvlei for two nights. An early rising to join a half day 4×4 tour into the dunes and an opportunity to climb Big Daddy, the massive red sand dune that looms majestic above the Dead Vlei, an ancient dry pan. Beautiful winding mountainous gravel tracks lead us to the Namibian Capital where you’ll have the day off to visit the city and recharge for the second leg of the journey. This leg of the journey is also available as a stand alone nine day tour.

Part two of the tour is an eleven day circular route from Windhoek though the Kaokoland and Damaraland regions. See attached short YouTube videos of the highlights of this tour of what we consider “The last unspoiled paradise”.

Where in the world can you ride a thoroughbred dirt touring motorcycle through a vast and varied magnificent wilderness, on rugged tracks, navigable dry river beds and hand chopped mountain passes? Much of the route is through areas with unfenced wild game that include the famous desert elephants, big cats, reptiles and large herds of grazing antelope. The Ova-Himba local indigenous people still live a life mostly unaffected by the last three centuries and provide a window into an ancient Africa. You’ll also get to meet the Herero, Damara and Ovambo people of the region.

How much does this tour cost, and what are the best months to go?
I run a tour company in the USA and have lots of contacts. Would be interested in a private group ride.
Thanks
Hi Diego, Been lying low over the Covid time but now planning my Kaokoland Namibia tours for 2021.
The tours cost for the 11 days, including fuel, accommodation and rental bike is $3850.
Starts and ends in the Namibia capital, Windhoek.
We do private group rides for friend groups and for touring companies we tailor packages to suit the operator. Group size from 4 – 8 riders with pricing dependant on group size and level of accommodation.
Cheers, John
