SUMMARY:Kaokoland / Damaraland Odyssey Tour - May 09 - 20 - 2026
DESCRIPTION:-Kaokoland\, The best motorcycle adventure on the planet. \n \nKaokoland Odyssey is a true ‘AFRICAN ADVENTURE.  The tour visits  the regions of Kaokoland and Damaraland in the remote north west of Namibia. We meet in the Capital Windhoek or the coastal town of Swakopmund (see tour details) The standard tour package is 11 riding days but can be between 9 and 14 days  for packaged groups. It is not without reason Kaokoland is known as Africa’s ‘last unspoiled wilderness’. The tour is a giant loop into this truly remote wilderness with the Cunene River the northern most point of the journey. Along the way you’ll cross great variations of terrain\, from rich grass lands\, rugged rocky climbs\, lengthy navigable dry river beds\, desert plains and the Skeleton Coast. The region is a vast unfenced game park with herds of antelope\, giraffe and desert elephant roaming free. We’ll get to meet the Himba People\, a semi-nomadic tribe that live seemingly untouched by the modern world. The women are instantly recognisable by the red dye that covers their bodies as protection from the sun and insects. Our accommodation ranges from stunning bush lodges\, guesthouses to remote bush camps. Group size is limited to 6 riders and you’ll be looked after by your trained motorcycle guide and the accompanying four wheel drive support vehicle and trailer. Recommended rental motorcycles are KTM500EXC & Husqvarna FE501  \nTour packages include motorcycle rental ( or option to ride your own bike)\,  all fuel\, back-up vehicle & trailer\, 10 x nights bed & breakfast accommodation\,  4 dinners + selected lunches \, bike support\, satellite phone communication\,  and experienced first aid trained rider guide.  (Package options vary and some include 5 nights of camping with tents / mattresses and all camping gear  included. \n \n\n\n Tour Duration: \n 13 days / 12 nights \n\n\n Total Distance: \n 2600 km \n\n\n Min Group Size: \n 4 Riders \n\n\n Suitable with Passengers: \n strictly not \n\n\n Price including rental bike (from): \n Price from ZAR 81\,500 \n\n\n Price excluding rental bike (from): \n Price from ZAR61\,000 \n\n\n Recommended Bike: \n KTM450/500EXC? 690R Enduro\, Suzuki DRZ400 \n\n\n \nThis tour is not suitable for pillions. We’ll visit the southern most tip of Africa\, the world renowned Cango Caves\, stunning nature reserves and magnificent off-road mountain passes. \nThe Garden Route is not without reason known as the ‘jewel of SA’s tourist regions’ and Baviaanskloof  (valley of baboons) is rated the ‘number 1 adventure motor cycle route in South Africa . \nHighlights include: \n\nBoschluyskloof Private Nature Reserve\nBaviaanskloof Nature Reserve (World Heritage Reserve)\nRooiberg Private nature Reserve\nSwartberg Mountain Pass\nSouthern most tip of Africa\nCango Caves\nDie Hel (Gankaskloof Wilderness Valley)\n\nLike most of our WildWood tours the routes are a little tougher than your average adventure tour and we recommend some off-road riding experience for this one. But wow\, the remote areas and mind-blowing vistas are great reward for the tougher terrain. Our fleet of rental KTM690 Enduro R motorcycles are perfectly suited to the chosen routes. \nThe routes are not suitable for pillion riding but can be adjusted for groups wanting more sedate and pillion friendly tracks . \n10 nights nights bed and breakfast in wonderful guesthouses / lodges / hotels. \nPackage options with or without motorcycle rental. \nFor groups of 4 or more a support vehicle and trailer option is available on request.
