9 Day adventure from Cape Town to the Orange-River for experienced riders who enjoy it a bit ruff , including confidence riding on sand tracks.
The journey north heads through the Cape Winelands over the magnificent Bainskloof Pass, through the Cederberg Conservancy and Tankwa Karoo National Park to the Orange River. Expect special tracks you won’t find in the tourist brochures. On route we’ll visit Verneukpan, the vast fresh water pan used by Sir Malcolm Campbell in his land speed world record attempt in 1929. We visit the huge date plantations at Pella before following the Namaqua 4×4 trail along the Orange River to the border town of Vioolsdrift / Noordoewer. After a night at a stunning luxury tented camp on the Orange River we head west on the rugged mountain tracks of the Richtersveld National Park before turning south on tough 4×4 routes to the coastal sand tracks of the west coast . On our final two days we hug this stunning coastline back to our tour end in Cape Town. Imagine 200km of endless sandy two tracks with the beautiful Atlantic Ocean no more than 100 meters from your right shoulder.
