KAOKOLAND – Africa’s last unspoiled wilderness’
11 day adventure to the north west of Namibia, to the Kaokoland and Damaraland regions.
It’s a remote and untamed wilderness.
2500 kilometres of riding through this vast wilderness, unfenced with very few formal roads and after day 2 zero asphalt.
This one is a mix of beautiful guest lodges and camping in the more remote areas.
A support team carries all your gear, supplied camping equipment and carries fuel for the 500km stretch where none is available.
Group size of 6 riders stays together all times, lead by myself.
This route is strictly for riders with off-road experience and able to spend a couple of long days in the saddle in often hot conditions.
Meet the indigenous Ova-Himba people, a nomadic tribe who to this stay live largely as they have for centuries in small settlements herding their livestock and occasionally growing small subsistence crops like maize.
The area is home to the famous desert elephants that roam freely in large parts of the area along with herds of Springbok, oryx, giraffe, zebra and other antelope. Preditors including black back jackals, leopard and even lion are also in the area but fortunately stay clear of human visitors.
The terrain is a continuously changing mix of rugged hills, canyons, dry riverbeds, massive open desert planes and even lush swamp areas.
