Ride Report – Kaokoland / Damaraland Special Edition (May 2025)

Our ‘Special Edition Kaokoland /Damaraland Tours are just that. Something special on top of what is probably the finest motorcycle tour destination on the planet.

For May 2025 we received our Spanish guests at the Skeleton Coast town of Swakopmund. The tour got of to a flying start, with two 4 seater Cessnas taking us north to the riding start point on the Namibia / Angola border at Epupa. Seeing the vast beauty of north west Namibia from the air in a low flying aeroplane is a special bonus. After meeting the ready waiting at Epupa we visited the famous Epupa falls and spent the afternoon at the beautiful Gondwana Omarunga Lodge making ready for the big journey south.

Eight truly epic ride days through ‘Africa’s last unspoiled wilderness’. Rugged trails through remote landscapes, beautiful lodges, free roaming wild animals and meeting the nomadic Ova-Himba tribe living as if unaffected by the last 500 years. And imagine riding for entire days on a KTM500EXC and not passing another vehicle???

A special thank you to our guests for making this a special tour and embracing the incredible beauty of Africa. Also worth mentioning is our Wildwood support team who pilot the support vehicle and trailer through some of toughest terrain to meet at us for fuel and supplies in this remote and rugged wilderness.
