A bespoke 7 day tour for group through the Wild Coast and Southern Drakensberg high roads.
After a lovely night at the Morgan Bay Hotel on the east coast we crossed the Kei River on the famous ferry for 4 days riding the rugged hills of the Transkei Wild Coast. Late summer rains sadly meant we couldn’t access some of our favourite cattle tracks due to flooded rivers but the plus side was the country side was lush and green. Wonderful lodges, awesome seafood balmy evenings are all hard to beat.
The second half the tour took us on the highest gravel passes of Southern Africa in the Drakensberg Mountains bordering Lesotho. These are my and many other South Africans favourite riding tracks offering beautiful riding and views to savour. Our lodging for this half of the tour was the truly magnificent 5 start Tenahead Lodge and Spa, at 2700 meters in a remote gorge 30 km from the nearest settlements.
Sadly all good things must sadly end but loved the undulating roads back to the Kei River river crossing and on to Morgan Bay.
Morgan Bay is less than an hour from the airport at East London with daily flights to and from Cape Town and Johannesburg.
